The facility SIGMA operates within Hidrogradnja since 1974. The main activities of this part of Hidrogradnja's business family are production, transport and installation of construction materials and prefabricated concrete elements for the needs of building construction and construction engineering.
SIGMA's production spectrum includes various assortment of concrete elements, both standard and those produced upon special requests of clients. The most famous SIGMA's products are prestressed ceiling constructions that have been built in almost 200,000 apartments to date, stair flights, and chimney and ventilation elements.
Although the name of this Hidrogradnja's organizational part is actually an acronym for full original name Sarajevska industrija građevinskog materijala (Sarajevo Construction Materials Industry) and it may suggest reference to the Sarajevo region, SIGMA has indeed expanded its market not only outside of Sarajevo borders but also outside of BiH. Namely, differently colored paving flags make merrier the streets, parks and roads of numerous towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia.
SIGMA's staff have also shown their proficiency in performance of construction works in the field of construction engineering and building construction.
Although devastated during the war, the facilities of this part of Hidrogradnja's business family after the reconstruction include a new facility for production of river aggregates and also the modern concrete mixing plant whose capacity is 110 m³/h. This plant of type Libherr is fully automated and currently represents the most modern facility of this type in BiH. The laboratory for continual control of input materials and ready concrete mixture enables us with its expert staff to produce all types of concrete, including concretes for work in winter conditions.
Within this facility is also a quarry in Hadžići, where the exploitation of dolomite is carried out.
Production of high-quality types of aggregates is also going on in Hidrogradnja's quarry Greben, located in the area of Kakanj, where the marlstone and cement rock are exploited to serve as a basic raw materials for the production of portland cement in the cement factory Kakanj.
The span of production capacities in the field of producing stone aggregates is complemented by the quarries Gornja Misoča and Radava. Limestone is exploited in the quarry Gornja Misoča and by its physical-mechanical characteristics it does not fall behind the eruptive types, so it is suitable for not only making concrete but also asphalt mixtures. The quarry Radava represents a rich site of high-quality eruptive stone – quartz keratophyre, with exceptionally good characteristics for production of asphalt for wearing courses of the roads.
